The Blog Is NOT dead....

I promise ... we haven't abandoned this blog, it just ... life keep getting in the way :( I've written several blogs in my head then have completely forgotten all about them, it happened again on my way home from work. It's like the blog seeps out of my brain through my ears and out the window as I'm listening to my favorite song on my way home. In my defense work has been crazy but I've used that as an excuse before and frankly I know what you are thinking ...

You wouldn't be wrong, I agree I suck, however I will say that googling "I suck" in an effort to find a picture for a blog posting is NOT something I suggest you do unless safe search is turned on. Then again if that's your thing ... enjoy. **NSFW** though if i have to tell you that ... then you really shouldn't perform that search.

It hit me today that we are nearing the 1 year anniversary of this blog in a few months and I still haven't found my voice. I don't know what to share with you guys and it seems stupid to be like

"I love Cheetos they are delicious"

Mostly because that's a waste of my time, your time, and the internet, also because that's not really a discussion builder. I never had this thought that this blog would take off like wildfire but I was hoping for a little more discussion happening, then again if we don't give you something worth talking about then that's on us. Or as you said previously ...

Again ... you would not be wrong though I do like the method you chose this time to tell me so. Etch-A-Sketch art is ah-mazing, google that it's a little safer. So once again I make the promise to you that we will be back, we will start posting again, and we will generate conversation on this blog or DIE TRYING!

For me I'm working on a sequel to my never ending Haley and Michael saga which I find myself thinking about all the time and until I get it out of my head and on a screen that will continue. When i say I'm working on it I mean I've opened the file several times and then starred at it for hours with very little written. However I'll get thee with it and when i do you'll get to read it .. if you are interested.

Golden is currently begging her body to just be a body. Her stupid body sometimes forgets it's side of the bargain on life and she has to man handle it back into submission. So when she gets back up and around, literally, I'll get her on another blog because unlike me she has found her voice and if you haven't read her posts you really should. They tell a story, teach some, and will make you laugh ... guaranteed. She's way better at this than I am and frankly I can't have that! :D

So until next time I leave you with this ....

... if nothing else I like to think I'm a better poet than Patrick.

Interactions are necessary for sanity

Ugh I have decided LuLu has a problem. I've never seen a dog lick themselves clean like a cat, except for LuLu. It's very bizzaro, not to mention distracting. It's awfully hard to try and write a blog post with that weirdness going on. I blame that cat… cause frankly Lulu sees only us most days and I’m not licking myself clean except when I drip delicious dip on my arm but that’s more about not wanting to waste dip. Truth is, I wish I could blame LuLu for my lack of posting lately, but that's not her fault, again I blame the cat. Actually a few times Lulu crept up on me while I was doing productive activities, like snacking, sleeping, watching TV, or reading, and told me that I needed to quit bitching out and post already. Of course she was right. I definitely did, but it's still something I work on. I'm trying to get better at writing, although I don't know that I have been successful. But what I feel the weirdest about, is that I feel like I'm writing into the void. No one to respond or interact with.

This is not a conversation.

And I am still trying to adjust to that. I don't know if that makes sense to you guys, it didn't to LuLu. She said I was just being a punk bitch and needed to man the fuck up and quit leave Marcy hanging. Lulu says that Marcy is counting on me and while she might be right but Marcy’s cool. She’s not really posting much either. (Sometimes I worry how often LuLu pulls for other people.) So I posed the question to Lu of how to reconcile my situation. After much meditation and hours of barking at random passersby, she came to me with an idea. I'll try anything at least once, so let's see how it goes. Plus if it totally tanks, I can always blame the dog, who will then in turn blame the cat.

I have asked people, via social media and in real life social situations, to send me lists of random topics or questions. I have accumulated these topics but haven't yet looked at them and as I type this, I will respond to these with my gut reaction. LuLu thinks this way I am conversing with others in a kind of "word association game" type way thus reconciling my situation….. alright let's do this!

Note the first word is the “Word given” to me the second is My reaction to said word

Fun - Laughter

Cake - Is a Lie

Religion - Restraints

Facebook - Ugh! Nosy bitches.

Twitter - Entertaining, Worldwide

Books - Lifetime friends

Leisure - Desire for more!

Soldier - Frontline of change, protector of beliefs

Fate - Fluid Inevitability

Comfort - Happiness, Warmth

Banana - Always Take a Banana to a Party

Love -  The Absolute Ultimate

Porn - Pizza

Travel - New Experiences, New Flavors

TV - My Version of Gluttony

Smell - Ass

Computer - Work

Hero - Survivors

Desire - Pain

Procrastination - My Downfall

Rescue - Rangers

Fragile - That Must Be Italian!

Freedom - Pure Oneness

Well that was interesting. A bit harder than LuLu led me to believe it would be, but then again what does she know, she thinks she is part cat. As you were reading my post what kept popping into your head?!

Social Media Clean Up

A few times a year my twitter timeline gets out of control. There are things clogging up my list that honestly I don’t care about keeping me from the items that I do and that’s not good. Granted a lot of that is my fault. I tend to follow first then ask questions later. Ahhh the ease of the follow button and instant conversation.

If you and I are watching a show and have a legitimate conversation about it I may follow you just to see if the conversation leads to anything else. If it doesn’t then the next clean up day you might not make the cut. However I’ve met some really great people on twitter using this method. Let’s face it Twitter is for the people you wish you knew unlike Facebook which is for the people you wish you didn’t know.

So how does one decide who stays and who goes ?

For me personally it’s when I look at your twitter name and can’t remember who you are. That signals to me that you and I haven’t “talked” in quite a while and the odds are that won’t change. In that case I pull up their twitter account and scroll down, if I see anything that I think wow I’m glad I saw that (a picture, a quote, a discussion about a book/movie/tv show) and will continue to follow.

If you RT all damn day the odds are you won’t make it past a few of my cleaning days. I RT a good bit as well but if it’s all RT and no conversation then frankly you are just an advertising bot and while I don’t wish you to be blocked or reported as Spam I don’t need it filling my timeline either. Or maybe you were someone I followed so we could discuss a show that’s no longer on the air and that was pretty much were our interests ended.

It’s not that I wish any of these people any ill will, and if they choose to continue to follow me the more the merrier, but I’m more a quality person than a quantity person. I’m not someone who watching my followers numbers very closely, or follows you cause you followed me. I don't need thousands of followers/follows when I only talk to say 100 of them. This medium is called SOCIAL media for a reason, if we aren’t social, then I don’t necessarily need to see your media.

So here’s to a Social Media Clean Up day … here’s hoping we are social on the other side.
