Hard Days Night

A horrible day at work. Just over the top stressful. Most of my things I've lost on the bread trail from my door to my bed include ...

§  Keys, which I hope are in my Nana's funky ashtray from the 60's.

§  Rainbow Brite backpack, used as a purse, which might currently reside on the couch.

§  Work bag, on the end table, surrounded by DVD boxes, lord only knows the location of the actual DVDs.

§  Shoes, sacrificed during the expedition for a Diet Coke, I believe they were kicked off in the kitchen next to LuLu's new giant pillow, which Santa brought her for Christmas.

§  Pants, which were discarded in the hallway, hey I almost made it to the bathroom.

§  Gaming bag, on the passenger side of my bed.

§  Shirt, on THE chair in my room. You know which one. The one everyone has but no one sits in because it's covered in clothes.

§  Hair, carefully placed on its pedestal, where she belongs.

I did obtain my shirt from the bathroom before finally heading to the bedroom. It's only a shirt by technicality. It has a front/back/sleeves, but also can't be worn outside for fear of an indecent exposure citation. It's so thin, tissue paper would provide more coverage. But...it's safe, it's comfort, it's security.

I wash my face, then apply the astringents, lotions, gels & creams. I don't know why I go through this routine, I don't even wear makeup but a routine I am religious about.

I put down fresh water and food for the cat, JiJiPusGato and finally crawl heavily in to my bed.

All of this is done without turning on a light, in a darkened house at a later hour than I’d like for it to be.

A day of frustration leads to tossing and turning. Exhaustion of soul finally gives away to sleep. I wish it was deep.

Shuffle. Scoot. Peaks from behind heavy eyelids. Turns. Moves just a little bit more. Then feel it. Laying up against her I start to relax. I find my spot.

Little noises exist that can become unnecessarily loud with silence. I crack open an eye just to check. Everything is fine but I don't want to move too much, I don't want to disturb her. As long as she lays here...I will too. In that moment I’m safe, all is good.

The sun comes up too early as it’s known to sometimes do. And I stretch, unfolding from a night of restlessness. I reach out to wake her, time to get going.

Stupid…

Stupid…

Ridiculously Stupid Golden…

I pick up my gaming bag from next to me. All night half conscious seeing a curl of black, feeling warmth on my leg, trying to be still to appease a bag. All because I fucking forgot.

She is gone.

How?!

How stupid am I to forget she's gone. I don't have an answer. All I know is that she is gone and I'm still not used to it.

And the silence she has left behind is deafening.

Furbabies

When I was in college I got the call. Come home, spend time with Tiger cause he’s not doing well. I packed up and rushed home spent the weekend playing with him, loving on him, hugging him and then he sat in the window barking at me as I got in the car to head back to school. When I got home I knew he wasn’t here long. I knew there was a tumor in his stomach that was keeping him from eating, I knew that he was at least 13 years old. I knew these things but it didn’t make it easier for me to walk in the door and have him not run up to the back door (he was an outside dog) and me have to fight him to get out as he tried to get in. I walked around the yard and found him in his favorite spot in my mom’s garden, which also happens to be his final resting place but more on that later. He lifted his head when I said his name, he looked at me gave a half hearted bark and wagged his tail. I sat down next to him and patted his head talking to him and started to pick him up into my lap when he barked basically saying “Hey nice lady….yeah don’t touch me there!” We must have sat like that for hours, until it was dark and then we let him in (as we did most nights) to hang out for a bit. It was a nice weekend I had the opportunity to say good bye.

The next week my mom took him to our vet and they put him to sleep. My father took the day off work, my nephew helped dad dig the hole in the garden, mom had them put Tiger in a medium Tupperware box with several blankets, to keep him warm, and the vet walked my mom to the car, hugged her and cried as she left. See Tiger was his first “patient” in his new practice after he had been working for another veterinarian. We still get a Christmas card from them, we understand that Tiger’s file is still in his filing cabinet. Everyone else in the cabinet is in ABC order, Tiger is listed as #1. We understand that an intern was hired to update records and she tried to throw the file away and the vet lost his shit over it and it was returned with a note saying “do not remove.” That’s how important a furbaby is, even if it’s not yours.

Tiger started out as my dog. We got him when I was 7 after I spent a week walking around with a box of roly polys which I called my pets. It worked out fine for me until dad looked in the box and realized that all of the roly polys were dead. I was pretty sure they were just sleeping but Dad is usually right. So off we went to pick out a dog. We picked out Tiger, or better yet he picked us. We went to the shelter, my brother, my parents and I and most of the dogs ignored us but Tiger barked at me. He was so little, so cute and was in dad’s price range. When he was a puppy my brother carried him around in a baseball cap. As kids often do we loved the dog at first but then life took over and Tiger became an after thought for us but for dad he was a constant companion. He and Tiger became shadows of one another.

True Story: My mom knew the second my dad left his office because Tiger would stop running around the yard and would sit on the back stairs looking through the window. He would sit just like that until dad walked through the room then Tiger would resume his chasing of squirrels or kids around the yard. My dad didn’t work an 8-5 job, he’d come home at 4, at 5, at 6, sometimes later. The point is no matter when he was coming home we’d know it cause Tiger would be sitting on the stairs. A few minutes later dad would walk in the door. It was crazy but it was a constant.

Roxy
As some of you may know Golden recently lost her furbaby. This is her second furbaby loss since I’ve met her. When we were in college Golden got Roxy, a cocker spaniel. Roxy was amazing, smart, and pretty sure she was a little girl. She wasn’t even sure what this “dog” thing was that we kept calling her. Golden taught her all these tricks and when you said outside she would go to the door, when you said bedtime she would go to the bedroom. Once I gave Roxy a hedgehog for Christmas and by the time I left (some 2 days later) you could say “where’s your hedgehog and she could go to a pile of toys and pull it out, bring it to you and then look at you like “are you a takerbaker?!” I often gave Roxy stuffed animals cause her favorite thing to do was pull out the squeaky thing on the inside. This also resulted in fluff everywhere which Golden would have to clean up – see it was the gift that kept giving! Roxy was a great companion she would keep you company on the couch she would protect you, as long as the threat was really far away, and she was loving. I didn’t miss Tiger as much because I had a surrogate furbaby in Roxy. Roxy developed health problems as she grew up from seizures to food allergies and blew out both knees (we believe because of a seizure while Golden was at work) and eventually passed away from breast cancer. I loved Roxy and cried when Golden called me, but my heart broke for Golden. For weeks I’d check on Golden and she’d be doing well until she pulled into the drive way and it hit her like it hadn’t before that Roxy’s nose wasn’t on the window welcoming her home. She sat in her car and cried and when she told me that I cried too.
Lulu
A little while later Golden got a new furbaby. The famous Lulu, a springer spaniel (but if you asked me there was some greyhound in her too). If you follow Golden’s twitter account Lulu was a crack addicted furbaby who spent a lot of her time wishing Golden would stop singing at her. Lulu was in fact a crazy dog. She would get super excited when people came over. She loved to attack the cat (the cat  didn’t love it nearly as much) she also loved to climb trees. No joke she climbed a freaking tree chasing some birds. She was also stupid fast hence the greyhound aspect of her. Lulu loved to play, she also loved to bite.  Her tail was her greatest weapon and it hurt like hell. The first time I visited after she came to live with Golden I’d be sitting on the couch and Lu would jump up and grab my hair, which hurt like hell. She didn’t know what she was doing. She was a puppy in a grown dogs body. It was her way of pulling my shirt tail. “Hey come play with me!” Golden had Lulu for about 5 years, when I realized that I was shocked in some ways it felt like she just got Lulu in others it felt like Lulu had been there forever. A week or so ago Lulu wasn’t feeling well, wasn’t eating, drinking very little and what she was eating/drinking she would throw up. Golden took her to the Vet only to find out she had the “puppy flu” which I admit I kind of made fun of. What your dog has the flu, is that a thing? Is that real!? In all my life I’d never heard of a dog getting the flu. Turns out it’s pretty freaking serious. Lulu passed away sometime Friday night/Saturday morning. Once again Golden watched as a furbaby took it’s last breath. Losing a furbaby is never easy watching them die the way Golden did has to be brutal.

I wish I knew what to do for her. I mean if it were say, her mom (God forbid) I’d drop everything, get in my car, call the office and say I have to go. No one would question it. They would rally around and make whatever needed to happen at work happen and I’d come back in a few days thanking them for helping me help my friend. I wouldn’t even question not being by Golden’s side at this moment. I wouldn’t feel intrusive, I wouldn’t feel in the way I’d be where I needed to be no questions asked. I feel helpless right now. I didn’t drop everything and rush to Golden’s side, I didn’t call her cause she was sleeping (it’s been weeks since Golden has slept), I checked in with text messages, watched her twitter account and as long as she was tweeting, liking things I knew she was….not ok…but here. I just don’t know what to do to make this hurt less and that breaks my heart. I feel like a crappy friend.

Golden will be ok I know that in my head but my heart is broken for her as I know her’s in broken for Lulu. I hope she knows I’m here if she needs me, I’m here if she wants to talk I’m here if she wants to call and talk about say … Dr. Who or Psych or anything else that she might want to talk about instead of talking about what she can’t talk about yet. So this is a post asking you to hug your furbaby, asking you to send love and positive energy to Golden (@theonlygolden) and a post telling you that a furbaby is important. If anyone knows of anything I can do for Golden that I’m not already doing, please let me know.

RIP Lulu ….. you will be missed …. By more than just your crack dealer.

It’s DRAGON CON TIME … almost

Cue the Swedish rock band, Europe's 1986 bitchin anthem, The Final Countdown because DragonCon is almost here! To the young ass kid reading this … you tube Final Countdown by Europe then go to your room, you are grounded for not knowing it before, your parents should be ashamed!

*synthesizer rocks out*
Dunna dun nun, duna dun dun dun

It's DRAGON CON TIME !!! (I picture you reader... reading that in the same what you'd say it's Adventure Time!) Well at least time to get my butt in gear so I can be ready for DragonCon!

It's less than three weeks away and I have, let's see, if I add up that, with this, carry the two, multiply that by …. Oh no wait that’s right it's FUCKING ZERO! Not a damn thing done! This wouldn’t be a problem except for IT’S LESS THAN THREE WEEKS AWAY!!!!!!!
I have had to focus on my medical treatments so intensely for the past 2 months that DragonCon has just snuck up on my ass! So I am very… very… very far behind! So far behind I'm looking at DragonCon from light years away.

BUT.... I have not yet conceded to give up, like some lame ass people *Marcy* whom I won’t call out on this blog because I’m classy and she *Marcy* knows who the hell I’m talking about. No way! I have 19 days to whoop my ass into con greatness!

That's 19 days to brainstorm and execute some rad cosplay that someone will want to take a picture with.

19 days to arrange a sitter for LuLu, my crack addicted puppy who thinks that she is grown up enough to stay by herself! But I really don't think that she is responsible enough. Did you read her post after last year’s DragonCon, she definitely can’t stay alone for an extended time frame … yet.

19 days to plan out which events to schedule. 19 days to get my house amazingly clean because can't nobody go on vacation and come home to a dirty ass house. 19 days to get packed. 19 DAYS! OMG!!!! DRAGONCON IS IN LESS THAN THREE WEEKS PEOPLE!!!!!
Breathe Golden …. It’s ok

So I guess it all starts TODAY. Today I shall attack the day with fervor! Today I shall jump up first thing in the noonish and work on some cosplay. Today is the first day of the rest of my life!

...well that's a bit fucking dramatic. Maybe let me bring the focus back down a bit. Today is the beginning of the DragonCon Final Countdown and the beginning of Golden being super hyper drive busy ! (which is always a good time for the outsider looking in) But it will all be worth it come September!

I hope to keep you all informed along the way so keep an eye out for new blog posts. You can also follow along on Twitter, where I will be posting updates leading up to DragonCon, some flashbacks from last years DragonCon (which is really where this Blog hit its stride afterall) and the insanity expected for this year's event. My crew has their memberships, the hotel is booked, now it’s up to us to get our asses in gear so this is a fun vacation, looking at you MARCY!

If you have any suggestions, ideas or con helpfuls just hit me up and share the wealth!

Now let’s get busy … after this marathon of Doctor Who of course.

POWER OF NINE

"What are we going to do with her." That is the question that I asked. “I'm a dog person but my little house is full. To quote that dude in that book, ‘There is no room at the inn.’ LuLu is a total attention whore not to mention she has a serious cocaine problem and gets pretty paranoid about the cat we do have. So who is going to take her?”

The answer I was given is that "She" would take it home ....and shoot it in the head (I know I have a tendency to be a bit dramatic, but this is not a joke). Now who is this she you may ask … well that is none of you bizness, should they find this blog then they will know it’s them, you on the other hand can call her Stephanie if you simply MUST give “She” a name.

It was around this point in the conversation that I lost all of my professionalism and questioned very elegantly "What in the fuck is wrong with you people". Out of the four people in this discussion (including myself and “Stephanie”) I was by far the most disturbed by her response. I know this is the south and people love their firearms but …. Really?! The reason for such violence was simply “She hated cats, we aren't permitted pets on the facility grounds and "She" was tired of dealing with it (AKA the problem) and "She" considered the cat an IT. In her mind the “winning point” "IT is just a cat, cats don't have souls."

I fuck you not. This is a conversation I had with grown ass people!

I wish I could tell you that "She" wasn't serious but this isn't the first time "She" and I have entered into this debate.

There are a few things that Golden learned as a little "G". Things that have been ingrained so deep, that I can't tell you why they are, they just simply are. Nine things that, as little Golden powered up into current Golden, keep repeating and reappearing like glitches in the matrix.

My power of nine list includes:
  1. Everything is as it should be.
  2. Life isn't fair.
  3. Take elements of childhood and make it last an eternity, including the childlike belief in miracles.
  4. We are all connected.
  5. Be true to you. Even when it's hard. There has not been, nor will there ever be, another you.
  6. Never stop learning. Learn everyday.
  7. Breathe.
  8. Laugh hard, Laugh often and always be the first person to laugh at yourself.
  9. Harm none because at some point, some how, everybody has to answer for their actions.
I know these seem like dull principles. My list of family advice is much more interesting, but that is a post for another day. But even dull as they are, I find that if I get stuck in life I can default back to these nine and they apply pretty damn well in just about all of the life situations I have encountered. Some of these rolled around in little G's head, formed by parents, friends, teachers, and just life experiences, like little pieces of goo crushed by life and time into chicken nuggets of wisdom.

Although born and raised in the south my family are oddities they don't southern as well as some. They don't NASCAR, they don't rock the camouflage, and they don't hunt. Growing up I never thought anything about mom not eating meat. And my dad buys all the deer feeders and food possible to draw the deer to their hippy-esque sanctuary so that they will be free to roam without fear of hunters. Seriously.

So I guess it was how I was raised to be respectful of all life. I don't know. I don't have a scientific answer as to whether anything or anybody has a soul. So do cats, or animals by proxy, have a soul? I feel that they have the breath of life in them, and for that, have as much a soul as any other lifeform, including myself. It may just be due to my nine nuggets that I think this and may not be true at all.

But because I believe so, much in my power of nine, and after much persuasion kitty was successfully re-homed and tonight continues to have its own power of nine. Nine lives.
Sorry....that was cheesy as fuck, but the rest of the post is pretty profound, don’t judge it on this cheddar cheese ending!

Interactions are necessary for sanity

Ugh I have decided LuLu has a problem. I've never seen a dog lick themselves clean like a cat, except for LuLu. It's very bizzaro, not to mention distracting. It's awfully hard to try and write a blog post with that weirdness going on. I blame that cat… cause frankly Lulu sees only us most days and I’m not licking myself clean except when I drip delicious dip on my arm but that’s more about not wanting to waste dip. Truth is, I wish I could blame LuLu for my lack of posting lately, but that's not her fault, again I blame the cat. Actually a few times Lulu crept up on me while I was doing productive activities, like snacking, sleeping, watching TV, or reading, and told me that I needed to quit bitching out and post already. Of course she was right. I definitely did, but it's still something I work on. I'm trying to get better at writing, although I don't know that I have been successful. But what I feel the weirdest about, is that I feel like I'm writing into the void. No one to respond or interact with.

This is not a conversation.

And I am still trying to adjust to that. I don't know if that makes sense to you guys, it didn't to LuLu. She said I was just being a punk bitch and needed to man the fuck up and quit leave Marcy hanging. Lulu says that Marcy is counting on me and while she might be right but Marcy’s cool. She’s not really posting much either. (Sometimes I worry how often LuLu pulls for other people.) So I posed the question to Lu of how to reconcile my situation. After much meditation and hours of barking at random passersby, she came to me with an idea. I'll try anything at least once, so let's see how it goes. Plus if it totally tanks, I can always blame the dog, who will then in turn blame the cat.

I have asked people, via social media and in real life social situations, to send me lists of random topics or questions. I have accumulated these topics but haven't yet looked at them and as I type this, I will respond to these with my gut reaction. LuLu thinks this way I am conversing with others in a kind of "word association game" type way thus reconciling my situation….. alright let's do this!

Note the first word is the “Word given” to me the second is My reaction to said word

Fun - Laughter

Cake - Is a Lie

Religion - Restraints

Facebook - Ugh! Nosy bitches.

Twitter - Entertaining, Worldwide

Books - Lifetime friends

Leisure - Desire for more!

Soldier - Frontline of change, protector of beliefs

Fate - Fluid Inevitability

Comfort - Happiness, Warmth

Banana - Always Take a Banana to a Party

Love -  The Absolute Ultimate

Porn - Pizza

Travel - New Experiences, New Flavors

TV - My Version of Gluttony

Smell - Ass

Computer - Work

Hero - Survivors

Desire - Pain

Procrastination - My Downfall

Rescue - Rangers

Fragile - That Must Be Italian!

Freedom - Pure Oneness

Well that was interesting. A bit harder than LuLu led me to believe it would be, but then again what does she know, she thinks she is part cat. As you were reading my post what kept popping into your head?!

Crimmus Time Really?

I got a case of the Charlie Browns. I'm not saying that out of all the Charlie Brown's in the world, that I would be the Charlie Brownest, but it's getting pretty damn close.

Usually by now I've got all my trees up, yes ALL! I put up a themed tree in every room. But not this year. So far I have the big one up in my bedroom and it's decorated. I also put the big one up in the living room. It's a total hassle. I put the lights on it and the little twinkling star on top....and then was like fuck it, I'll put the ornaments on it tomorrow.

I'm embarrassed to admit, that took place Sunday...and yeah still no ornaments. That's it. I still have 5 more trees that I usually put up and decorate. I love crimmus trees. They appeal to the kid in me. When I was a little golden, after we put up our tree, I always spent the first night laying underneath it looking into the lights, all sparkling and bouncing their magnificent reflection off the glass and glittery ornaments. It's the closest I will ever get to riding a magical unicorn through a rainbow meadow. It was glorious!

Not me but this is what it would have looked like if someone had taken a picture of me in my blissful state
But I'm just not feeling it this year. It just doesn't feel like crimmus. At least not to me. And at least not yet. I thought if I went through the motions the emotions would follow. They haven't. I will decorate my main tree, because it looks real stupid and sad. But my 5 other trees will march their sad asses back to storage.

So I wonder what's the deal?! Could it be that it's 70℉? Maybe. Having cold weather usually does signify crimmus time to me. But that really can't be it. People all over celebrate crimmus. Crimmus doesn't cease to exist because people live in warmer climates. Maybe it's my work schedule. I work in Mental Health care and so we work year round. But I actually made the executive decision to take off crimmus day Thursday and Friday after. So this year I get to spend a long lazy day with my family instead of trying to cram all the holiday cheer in an hour or two. Maybe it's the fact that i'm getting real uncomfortable when people ask me what I want for crimmus. I don't want anything, but people don't really like that answer. It's just that there's nothing I need. And honestly the things I want can't be bought.

Oh fucking hell! Is it... Is this... Could it be that I'm, like growing up and stuff?! Is this what adults feel like? Oh good christ I hope not! This sucks ass! Surely adults don't walk around in an internal funky state. No wonder adults have all those face wrinkles.

Calm down, Lets see. I wore a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt to work today with my Marvel Vans. I carry my Hello Kitty wallet in my classic style Rainbow Brite backpack. I practiced an improvised ice skating routing on the kitchen floor with my pup LuLu. I stayed up all night watching cartoons. And I firmly believe in the right to eat cold pizza for breakfast and hot eggs and waffles for dinner. I also maintain a pretty fucking sweet sticker collection.

So maybe it's not the dreaded adulthood thing. Who knows what it is. All I know is that I am so the mayor of funksville. Hopefully the tide will change and I will be able to be bitch slapped by the holiday spirit. Hopefully it will happen soon cause this pseudo-adulthood sucks balls.

Thankfulness Challenge - Day 19

Holy fuckballs it's cold!

I live in the US in the state of Alabama. We are by no means a tropical climate, but we are a southern state. The  weather here is usually suffering hot summers, an occasional hurricane and tornadoes that Dorothy would envy. But right now it is really stupid fucking cold outside. Last night the temperature was 25℉ and tonight it’s 43℉ but according to the weather channel it feels like 39℉. It's too cold, too early in the season.

So not feeling my fingers has totally got me fantasizing of the glory of Warmth. And I can tell you I am very thankful for warmth. That warm feeling you get when you slide on those overstuffed fuzzy house shoes after a hard day running around. The warmth of hot and sour soup as it goes down your throat and warms your belly from the inside. That awesome feeling of warmth when you crawl into what I call the blanket burrito. Where just the tip of your nose is exposed and it's coldness is a welcome contrast to the cozy burrito-y warmness of such a heavenly blanket happy place. Mmmm yeah. That's perfection.

The really stupid thing is that in just 4 days it's supposed to be 76℉ here.

So I'm sure at that time I’ll start fantasizing about how thankful I am for the Cool, but until then I'm going to grab my dog LuLu and strap her to me like a personal heat generator. She really isn't thankful me doing that, but fuck it. I'm a block of ice and she needs to contribute to my happiness, or get a job and pay the electricity bill!

Until next time....Stay Warm!

Thankfulness Challenge - Day 2

I must be a horrible person to live with; just absolutely dreadful. I keep weird hours. I sleep more in shifts than actually go to bed, like a “normal person.”

I have weird tendencies. Like the need to break out into song and dance whenever I feel like it. I'm not talking, "oh hey I'm listening to music and I'm gonna sing along and maybe groove to the beat" type thing cause it is my jam. No…I’m talking, for no damn reason, I’ll be sitting in bed reading, then suddenly screaming/singing Broadway tunes or the latest in rap. With no warning or even an explanation as to why I feel that 3:30am deserves the loudest white girl rendition of DJ Assault's classic "Ass and Titties".

I also have books in every room in an order that only makes sense to me. This is actually a great trait but I kind of freak out when people touch my books. Seriously no touchy!

I often leave a trail of diet coke and water bottles throughout the house. I take up too much closet space and will take as many showers a day as I want. There are days that I go Godzilla and chase LuLu around the house rawr-ing and knocking shit over. My fridge usually has more painting supplies and medical injections in it than actual food. There are days I want to do everything! But then days I don't want to even talk to a soul. I totally hog the tv remote and I can't stand cleaning up messes that are not my own. I'm sure there are thousands of other things that I am oblivious to but that would equally drive a person to the brink of madness. All of these are excellent reasons as to why I need to live alone.

That's why I'm thankful in the infinite wisdom of the universe, to have never made Marcy and I roommates. Had the past turned out as such, there surely wouldn't be a current friendship or any future adventures. I am quite certain that had we been roommates, she would have done the world a great service and had me locked away, or she’d be locked away from freaking out and doing what needed to be done, using my head on the front door as a knocker. The universe (and University by proxy) knew enough to put us in each other's path but also knew enough not put me so close that she ran away from the madness that is my lifestyle. So this drink is for you, Universe! Thanks for knowing that I suck so hard that a lifelong best friend could not be made by sharing a room, but instead by sharing a bathroom.

-golden (@theonlygolden)

Ps-I also talk in my sleep.

(Per Marcy --- it’s true she does and she also remembers NOTHING about a conversation if you wake her up with a phone call. Do not tell her anything important if you wake her up it’s a waste of time for both of you)

GUESS WHO?!

Hello interwebs! LuLu here.

I have confiscated my moms computing device while she is in a sick med coma. She uses this damn thing all the time but I can't figure it all out. Sometimes she talks into it and then 20 minutes later some dude shows up with food. I wish I could figure that shit out. This kibble says chicken flavored but the only way I'm gonna believe that is if it's the ass end of a chicken.

So anywho.... Mom went off for about a week, and I threw down! I had my crew come over and we sat around playing poker for awhile. Had a few rubbish hands dealt me, but still walked away the winner. But I mean come on, we all know the house always wins.

Mom and her friends weren't gone long before an acquaintance of mine, Pablo Escobark, stopped by with my weekly energy supplements. I guess at this point I should probably provide the disclaimer that drugs are bad and in no way do I, Tallulah-Toulouse "LuLu" Dean, encourage any being to partake in such illegal activities.

Pablo hung out awhile before heading back home. Before the night was over the cat looked like a skunk from us doing so many lines off it's back! Lol it's cool, that cat is a total douche.

We all had a pretty great time until my grandparents showed up. I was barely able to get everybody out the back before they came in. The house was fucking trashed man! There was nothing I could do, fabreeze only covers so much! The rad thing was, though, that I got in no trouble! None! I know, I couldn't believe it either. They spent all day cleaning up & talking about what a messy house my mom keeps. Un-fucking-believable! I just got snacks, toys, attention and all the belly rubs I wanted. Just when I thought mom was never coming back, she did. It seemed like she was gone forever but in all honesty, she could have been gone for 20 minutes. I wasn't really paying attention.

I guess I was excited to see Mom. I mean for the most part she's cool. Sometimes she gets on my nerves. Like last week, I was trying to track something thru the yard and all she wanted to do is chase me around dancing and singing some shit about doing the time warp again. Seriously, what the fuck mom! So embarrassing! The neighbor dogs were out & saw everything. What the hell am I supposed to say to that?! But she isn't always like that. And even though I refused to tell her, I did kind of miss her. But i don't want her getting the wrong impression, like I can't make it without her. She would never leave!

She's been sick since coming back but she will probably be better soon. All she seems to do is take meds, go into a coma state, wake up, feed me & that asshole cat, take meds and go back into her coma. Over and over. As a matter of fact she should be waking soon. I wonder if I can get this posted before she does. Well I guess I will catch you two legged weirdos later. I'm gonna hide all of her left shoes before she wakes up. No reason why, I just like fucking with her.

-Peace, love & kibble!

Not yet dead

So it seems that I am not dead. Sorry I have been M.I.A. lately but I got the black death. I really thought I would be dead today, but nope. I was saved by the power of antibiotics and anti-funk meds. Praise drugs! Since I was in Atlanta I was pretty sure it was either the walking dead zombie virus or the Ebola virus. But It was nothing so glamorous. I'm still kinda funky but I am getting better. Which means that I will be back to writing for the blog and harassing you guys again. Yay! (I think?)

I have been back from my vacation for a week now and I still have a suitcase that hasn't been fully unpacked. Bad Golden! I miss traveling. I used to do it all the time for business and pleasure. I love seeing new things, new places, new faces. I love the feeling that you get, of being a total alien, when you watch the local news in another city. I love being the eternal observer. I could be perfectly happy finding a place in a busy central hub and sitting all day and watching the new world go by. It makes my soul happy. Although as I grow from a little g into a Big G, I'm starting to love the feeling of coming home. To a place that's all mine. Knowing that after all the chaos of the world I can return to my fortress of solitude and recharge. Knowing that no matter what happens I can scoop up LuLu and snuggle in my happy place, with nothing to stand in my way. Well almost nothing, it seems LuLu isn't in the snuggle mood. Bad LuLu.

So I am sorry it's been a while without a post, but enjoy yourselves because I'm starting to feel up to my old annoying self. And soon you will all suffer! Bwahahahaha *cough cough cough* bwahahahaha *cough* well you get the point. I'm still sick. Just insert evil laugh here...

DragonCon Coma

I write this sitting on Golden’s couch, shout out to Lulu who won’t walk through a half closed gate cause she’s a cracked out baby, with Golden sleeping off the Con through a showing of Sherlock Season 1. Since we are back in the world of Lulu that means we have officially left the Con behind. We packed up, dusted ourselves off, and got out of our Hotel before the maid service showed up cussing. Golden did leave them one little present …

Not gonna lie … kinda wish I could have seen their face for that one, then again they might have just rolled their eyes and said awwww hell and proceeded to strip the rest of the bed and clean the room to turn it around for the next guest.

Overall the weekend was a success, however the goals I set for myself a few post back just didn’t pan out. I had two really great opportunities to literally let my hair down and dance the night away and the best I could do was sway back and forth. At the Arthur Dent PJ party I even had a guy try to dance with me as I was walking around looking for my friends and I politely ran away like a scared little girl. Sigh… I guess I just didn’t want to waste his time. He looked like he was really enjoying the party and dancing with me seemed well beneath him. Like I wasn’t worthy of his skills. During the Yule Ball, which we crashed after Dumbledore had sent all the kiddos to their respective common rooms, the only one not in our crew to talk to me was a guy who wanted me to watch his bag while his cell phone charged in a nearby plug. Bottom line .... techno music, and dancing just aren't my thing and my expectations are much larger than my bravery.

That being said DragonCon was not a total loss. I got to high five Darkwing Duck, saw Oscar the Grouch, hung out with three really fantastic ladies, got to see Maribel's face when she saw Optimus Prime, and got my picture made with Bender and that was all in a single day.

There’s talk of going back next year, I’m still worn out from this year, I don’t even want to think about next year right now. However it’s my understanding that to get good rooms for 2015 we needed to have book them last year or even better in 2010. If we return, when we return, we'd like to be in one of the host hotels. We think the noise and people will make up for the travel back and forth to and from the Con, which honestly was made easier by use of Uber. Seriously NPH is right, with the exception of one driver, it's a fantastic car service for the "everyman."

We also think it will help us in making more of the lovely DragonCon panels and best of all when everyone else is wanting to continue to walk around and I was completely spent I could have said guys I’m out and took to the room to crash. As it was I waited for the group, sitting on the floor or in a chair I found and thus have spent the last two days in a semi-permanent state of exhaustion. This does not bode well for traveling by car 4+ hours. This is why I’m spending the night with Golden instead of heading south. Well that and the fact that I miss the hell out of this woman when I’m not with her and I wanted to delay that a bit. I'm not done laughing with her, and most important I'm not ready for my vacation to be over, I'm not ready to get back to the real world, sigh .... I guess I need a vacay for my vacay.

So DragonCon it was real and yes it’s very likely we’ll see you again next year so well played DragonCon we are now hooked – which I guess was your goal so at least one of us can say we accomplished something this week. Expectations met and Mischief Managed.
